Cash for Work

Cash-for-work is an Intervention strategy used by PDA to provide temporary employment to vulnerable segments of the Communities that we serve. Cash-for-work empowers individuals and supports the rebuilding and rehabilitation of the community infrastructure. Our cash-for-work approach empowers individuals since direct cash transfers provide a flexible resource to the affected households and enable them to spend money according to their needs and priorities. Cash-for-work stimulates recovery of the local economy by creating short-term work reintroducing income flows supporting local businesses through the purchase of goods and services.

Cash-for-work encourages households to purchase food and non-food items locally our cash-for-work programs indirectly fund the rehabilitation of damaged community assets while maintaining the dignity of the affected populations through meaning for community engagement in the selection and implementation of projects. Our cash-for-work activities involve significant segments of the communities we serve, they are designed to encourage the integration and participation of women in other marginalized groups was benefiting the entire community and not just a few individuals.
